We are helping those affected by disasters by preparing hot Cajun meals and gathering donations.
The Cajun Gravy was started by a small group of volunteers from Baton Rouge, Central, Gonzales, and Donaldsonville. We donate our time, our equipment and our gift of cooking to help people. When Hurricane Harvey entered Texas, we decided to put a crew together and headed west. We started making calls to businesses to see if they wanted to donate to our cause. We had great success and we were able to fill 5 trucks and about 70 feet of enclosed trailer space, just to pull what we had been given in donations over the first 4 days.
We had enough food from donations to be able to make over 19,000 plates. We are hopeful still that the word of mouth will continue to spread and we can keep cooking with your help.
